When wild boars ravaged this property adjacent to Bishop Ranch Open Space, the owners contacted SFLA to create the backyard retreat they had always wanted. Low fencing placed down the hill now provides a wild-boar barrier and maintains a clear view to the oak-woodland valley. Garden beds filled with low-water use, climate-adapted and California native plants give seasonal vibrancy to the garden and attract beneficial pollinators. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, as well as a family of quail and varieties of migrating birds frequent the plantings. An oversized flagstone garden path leads past a decorative rock-and-gravel drainage swale to the elegant stone patio and firepit; a gorgeous vantage point from among the perennials and grasses!
