The team here at Susan Friedman Landscape Architecture welcomed the good news that our landscape contractors could go back to work! This means our current clients’ landscape projects can resume and new clients’ projects can be scheduled and started in the next coming weeks. We’ve been working steadily designing new projects trusting that they would be installed someday and now that day is here. It’s important to celebrate any good news.

So while the six Bay Area Counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara) have extended Shelter-In-Place for most people until May 31, 2020, all construction activities and certain outdoor businesses (including retail nurseries, landscapers and gardeners) were allowed to go back to work on Monday, May 4, 2020 – subject to strict new safety protocols

SFLA and our landscape contractors want our clients to feel comfortable and confident that the contractors have social distancing policies in place and they are following them. These polices include staying home when sick, wearing face masks and gloves, keeping social distance and more. Many of our contractors will be placing signs on fences to inform neighbors that their workers are allowed to be there and will be following the COVID-19 safety policies, which will be kept in binders in their vehicles.

Our contractors requested that homeowners and HOA’s let their neighbors know that construction workers are allowed to be there to avoid any unnecessary concern. Everyone is eager to get back to work and want projects to go as smoothly as possible.
